Real Madrid doesn't want the endless rumours about Kylian Mbappe to distract the star man of their project — Vinicius Jr, per Marca.
The club have already extended Vini's contract by four more years with a bumper pay rise. The new contract has been signed and will be made public in the coming week.
Vinicius was also handed the number 7 shirt at Real Madrid following the departure of Eden Hazard.
However, Mbappe's arrival will necessitate some tactical tweaks in Real Madrid's attack leaving Vinicius wondering how it may affect him, considering that the Frenchman also likes to play at left wing.
Last season, Vinicius scored 23 goals and 21 assists in his 55 games for Real Madrid. Such impressive numbers are why Los Blancos have told Vini he's their star man, regardless of whether Mbappe arrives or not.
