Real Madrid want to keep Toni Kroos at the end of the season when his current contract expires. Marca reports that Real Madrid are launching a campaign to persuade Kroos.
The club has no doubt the 33 year old will have plenty to offer next season given his form this year. In 18 La Liga appearances the midfielder scored the first goal and passed the ball to a teammate. Group 6 times.
However when Madrid told Kroos that his form guaranteed a new deal and a long stay at the club he replied that it was the perfect time to leave.
The German does not want to leave when he is on the bench. He wants to retire while he is still a key player. So Real Madrid are trying to convince him that Toni Kroos will reconsider his ideas.
Like last year Kroos will make a decision later in the season in April or May.
