Jules Kounde had to be subbed off in the first half after Gavi inadvertently barged onto his knee. The injury looked serious to the eye as the Frenchman seemed in genuine pain.

However, Xavi has now allayed fears about a potential serious injury to the big defender.

Kounde's injury doesn't look serious. He's fine, but we'll know more after tests on the player, Xavi added.

It is now expected that Kounde will not be involved in international duty this week to allow him to recover from the injury.

Kounde has been a stalwart in Barca's defence this season and was one of the few defenders in Europe who had not been dribbled past in their first nine games.
