Liverpool have been linked with a move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat ever since his jaw-dropping performances with Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar.
Last week, the rumours intensified, with Dutch sources claiming that the Reds were trying to hijack Man United for the 27-year-old.
Now the move is off, Fabrizio Romano claims, as Liverpool decided to sign Wataru Endo instead.
The reporter said on his Here We Go podcast: The only thing that happened with Liverpool is that before signing Endo last week, they had contact with the camp of Sofyan Amrabat to ask about information.
It was a good conversation, but internally they decided to invest the money in Endo. From what I’m hearing they are not in contact with Fiorentina or player’s side anymore.
I don’t see Amrabat joining Liverpool, it was a possibility considered for 24 hours.
