Spain coach Luis Enrique has resigned after being knocked out of the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup . The Spanish Football Federation has announced that Luis Enrique has resigned. The federation thanked him and wished him good luck in his next job. Spain U21 coach Luis de la Fuente has been named the new head coach of the Spanish national team, replacing Enrique.
Enrique has twice coached Spain. The first is from July 2018 to March 2019. He resigned for personal reasons after being transported only 8 matches.He took office for the second time from November 2019 to December 2022. During his second term, he led 39 games, winning 20 draws, 14 draws and 5 defeats.It should be noted that Spain lost to Morocco in the penalty shootout 3 to 0 after 120 minutes to 0-0. In the Group Stage, Spain beat Costa Rica 7-0, drew 1-1 with Germany
and lost to Japan 1-2.
