Olivier Giroud is on the verge of returning to European football with Lille finalizing a deal to sign him following a solid stint in Major League Soccer with LAFC. According to Fabrizio Romano the French striker has agreed to a one-year contract with the Ligue 1 club and the paperwork is currently being prepared.
The move is expected to be officially completed in the coming days with medical tests already scheduled. Giroud is set to play his final match for LAFC against the Vancouver Whitecaps this weekend before making his return to France.
The 38-year-old had evaluated his options after leaving AC Milan and joining LAFC earlier this year. However after a brief time in the United States he is now ready for a return to Europe where he previously played for Arsenal with Chelsea and Milan.
