Real Madrid are continuing to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup with a particular focus on finding a midfielder to support new coach Xabi Alonso following Luka Modric departure. Despite potential reinforcements being considered Dani Ceballos is confirmed to remain with the club this summer as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Ceballos who has a contract running until June 2027 is regarded as a key player in Alonso new project. The Sevilla-born midfielder played a vital role this past season especially after Toni Kroos left the club. He amassed 1.960 minutes across 23 La Liga matches contributing significantly until a muscle injury in early March sidelined him for over six weeks.
Beyond the domestic league Ceballos featured in nine Champions League games scoring once. He also appeared five times in the Copa del Rey twice in the Spanish Supercup and once in the UEFA Supercup.
Having recovered his form towards the end of the league season Ceballos is now poised to reaffirm his importance to Real Madrid squad in the forthcoming Club World Cup in the United States.
