FC Bayern Munich have secured the signing of German international Jonathan Tah. The 29-year-old centre-back joins the German champions on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen and has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029. Tah will wear the number 4 shirt at Bayern.
Born in Hamburg Tah began his professional journey at Hamburger SV academy in 2009 making his first-team debut in August 2013 at just 17 years old—the youngest debutant in the club history at the time.
After a loan spell at Fortuna Dusseldorf he signed for Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the 2015-16 season. Tah made 402 appearances for Leverkusen scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists. He also won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double in 2024 as well as the Supercup.
Internationally Tah debuted for Germany in March 2016 and has earned 35 caps participating in the 2016 and 2024 European Championships. He previously captained Germany U19 and U21 teams.
