Manchester United are currently at the forefront of the race to sign Lyon forward Rayan Cherki in cut-price deal with the 21-year-old identified as a on fo the targets for the summer transfer window. The Frenchman would cost around £20 million a figure that presents a potential bargain for United reports Mirror.
Cherki who nearly joined United academy years ago under Nicky Butt stewardship opted to stay at Lyon where he signed his first professional contract at 16. Since then United have continued to monitor his progress closely and are now poised to make a move.
The forward has enjoyed a strong season making him a key target for several top clubs. Last summer Cherki turned down an approach from Paris Saint-Germain highlighting his determination to pursue his career in a competitive environment.
Rayan Cherki has scored 10 goals and provided 18 assists in 37 matches this season. His current contract with Lyon runs until June 2026.
