Ekrem Konur reports that both Manchester City and Real Madrid are planning to meet with the agents of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz. The 21-year-old German international has been in outstanding form contributing significantly to Leverkusen recent successes. His performances have attracted the attention of several top European clubs including Manchester City and Real Madrid.
In January Manchester City expressed interest in signing Wirtz viewing him as a potential successor to Kevin De Bruyne. However persuading Bayer Leverkusen to sell him during the winter transfer window proved challenging.
Real Madrid also identified Wirtz as a potential replacement for Luka Modric who is approaching the end of his career. The Spanish club reportedly initiated negotiations with Wirtz representatives aiming to secure his services in the near future.
