Jules Kounde is likely to extend his contract with Barcelona with the club set to offer him an extension until 2030. Barcelona are pleased with his performances and Kounde is happy at the club willing to negotiate a deal.
The 26-year-old has settled well into the right-back position after initial tensions with coach Xavi Hernandez. Barcelona is also open to moving him back to central defense if necessary. While Kounde has attracted interest from Chelsea and the Saudi Pro League Barcelona will not entertain offers for him having already locked him in with a €1 billion release clause.
Barcelona aim to finalize Kounde renewal before that of Raphinha who is also under contract until 2027. Kounde who lives in Sitges is happy at the club and his continued presence strengthens Barcelona defense alongside renewed contracts for Araujo and Pau Cubarsi.
Barcelona are looking to strengthen their squad further with a potential move for Jonathan Tah and ongoing attention to market opportunities.
