Arsenal are reportedly determined not to let William Saliba leave for less than a world-record fee amid strong interest from Real Madrid according to RMC Sport.
Saliba 23 has established himself as one of the top centre-backs in Europe since joining Arsenal from Saint-Etienne in 2019. He was a pivotal figure in the Gunners near-title-winning campaign last season and continues to play a crucial role in Mikel Arteta side this term.
While Saliba is under contract with Arsenal until 2027 Real Madrid have identified him as their top target.
However Arsenal are said to be unwilling to entertain a move unless it meets their hefty price tag which could surpass the current record fee for a defender the £78.3 million Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019 and Manchester City Josko Gvardiol £77m a close second.
Transfermarkt currently value William Saliba at £66.6 million.
