El Nacional has reported that Barcelona are planning to sign Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres next summer.
The Catalan club are uncertain about extending Robert Lewandowski contract which expires in 2026. With interest from Saudi clubs such as Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr Barcelona are considering moving on from the Polish striker and exploring younger options for their attack.
Barcelona are confident about landing Gyokeres but the transfer fee reportedly around €80m is a potential obstacle. The club might pursue a loan deal with an obligation to buy if they cannot immediately meet the asking price.
Players like Pedri and Lamine Yamal are said to be optimistic about Gyokeres fitting into the playing style under head coach Hansi Flick.
