Barcelona president Joan Laporta is putting plans in motion to sign a new striker for Barcelona in the January transfer window reports Mundo Deportivo.
Laporta must believe that Barca needs a backup or someone to compete with Robert Lewandowski if the team is to win something this season.
However it remains to be seen who Barcelona could sign during the January window as most clubs would be unwilling to let their goalscorers go midway through the campaign.
Barca have been strongly linked to Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres but it unlikely he moves in January. Another option could be Jonathan David who has openly declared his love for Barca.
