Barcelona are reportedly monitoring the situation of Alex Baena the talented winger from Villarreal according to SPORT. The 22-year-old has impressed with his performances attracting attention from several top clubs.

Baena contract with Villarreal runs until June 2028 with a release clause set at €60 million. Despite this Barcelona are still interested in him although financial constraints are preventing them from making a strong move at this stage.

The winger has expressed his admiration for Barcelona in the past having played for Girona where he had a positive experience. This connection could make a move to the Catalan club appealing for Baena if he decides to leave Villarreal.
