Veteran goalkeeper Anthony Lopes has brought an end to his 18-year association with Olympique Lyonnais joining Ligue 1 rivals FC Nantes on a six-month contract.
The 34-year-old Portugal international who made 489 appearances for Lyon to become the club fifth-most capped player found himself relegated to the sidelines following the arrival of Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri.
Despite rejecting advances from Liverpool and Nantes in the summer Lopes eventually terminated his contract with Lyon to join Antoine Kombouaré Nantes side.
Lopes has signed a six-month deal with Nantes with an option for additional years based on his performance until 2027 at least. He will wear the number 16 jersey for his new club.
The arrival of Lopes combined with the impressive performances of Patrik Carlgren has paved the way for Alban Lafont to leave the club.
