Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Barcelona over the permanent signing of Clement Lenglet in the summer claims journalist Ruben Uria.
The Spanish giants have been impressed with his consistency and performances under Diego Simeone system helping them end 2024 on top of the La Liga table.
Atletico Madrid are now willing to pay a fee of around €8m-€10m for the Frenchman services on a permanent basis in the summer.
This is a change from their view from earlier this campaign when they were only willing to sign him permanently on a free deal.
Lenglet has made nine appearances for Atletico Madrid in La Liga helping them keep four clean sheets in the league.
