Jonathan David signing would cost Barcelona €80m despite him likely to become a free agent next summer according to Diario Sport Lluis Miguelsanz.
The fee includes a hefty signing bonus and his potential five-year salary.
In addition to this Barca believe David player characteristics don't quite fit so they are unlikely to sign him any time soon.
Earlier it was said that Jonathan David was among Blaugrana major targets for the striker position. The player was even said to be ready to accept a secondary role behind Robert Lewandowski in the early stages.
David has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances for Lille this season.
