Lamine Yamal was not 100 per cent recovered from his ankle injury when he returned to play for Barcelona in their league game against Las Palmas.

According to Diario Sport Lamine was playing through pain in his foot but carried on playing four more matches before worsening the ankle injury. The youngster had to do it because he was needed by Barca on the pitch.

Lamine problem was aggravated when he was brutally tackled on the same leg during Barca home defeat to Leganes.

The 17-year-old has now been sidelined for nearly a month to recover. He will play Barca second or third game of 2025 which is likely to be in the Spanish Super Cup.
