Joan Laporta wants Frenkie de Jong to sign a new Barcelona contract and stay beyond this season reports Alfredo Martinez.
The Barca president would like Ronald Araujo to follow the same path too. Unlike De Jong the Uruguayan expresses his desire to stay although Laporta believes the Dutchman is also in favour of staying put. Laporta believes Frenkie would be very useful to the club.
Earlier it was reported about the war between De Jong and the Barcelona board after the club apparently tried to get rid of him in the previous transfer campaigns.
De Jong current deal with Blaugrana expires in 2026.
