Manchester United have agreed to sign 17-year-old Paraguayan defender Diego Leon with the player set to join the club in June 2025.
Leon will remain with his current club Cerro Porteño until then competing in the Apertura tournament for the first half of the 2025 season.
He will be eligible to move to Manchester United once he turns 18 in April 2025 paving the way for his arrival in time for the 2025-26 season.
The United offer has met the expectations of both Leon and his agent and the deal is expected to be finalised within the next few hours.
Leon has made a rapid rise to prominence with Cerro Porteño scoring the winning goal on his debut in August.
He has since established himself as the team first-choice left-back, making 19 league appearances this season.
