According to BBC Nizaar Kinsella Djordje Petrovic can still make his way back to Chelsea despite being shipped out in the summer.
The Serbia international ended the last campaign as Mauricio Pochettino first-choice goalkeeper. Enzo Maresca however views Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen as players ahead of Petrovic in the pecking order.
However Djordje has impressed on loan at Strasbourg and become the starting goalkeeper for his national team for the first time.
It means that the door remains open for Petrovic at Stamford Bridge although there is plenty of competition.
Aside from Sanchez and Jorgensen Chelsea have Marcus Bettinelli in the squad as well as Kepa Arrizabalaga and Mike Penders with Gabriel Slonina and Eddie Beach on the books.
