Barcelona are reportedly assessing several options for a new striker. Jonathan David and Rafael Leao have been linked as potential replacements for Robert Lewandowski. However there a possibility the club may hold off on their search for a striker until 2026.
Lewandowski has shown no signs of slowing down. The 36-year-old has scored 19 goals in just 17 matches this season. His current form could encourage Barcelona to keep him for another year potentially postponing the need for a new forward.
Sources suggest Lewandowski is keen on extending his stay at Barcelona until 2027 when he will be 39. If he maintains his impressive form it could lead to a delay in the club striker plans.
Barcelona are facing financial challenges ahead which may make waiting until 2026 a more viable option. This could allow them to reassess their options under more favourable conditions.
