Saudi Arabia expressed interest in signing Barcelona rising star Marc Casado during the last transfer window.
There was significant interest from Saudi clubs with several reaching out to Barcelona with attractive financial offers. They were aware of the club ongoing financial struggles and inquired about the availability of multiple players.
One Saudi club was willing to offer €8 million for Casado even though he had not yet secured a regular spot in the first team. However the deal did not materialise allowing Barcelona to keep hold of their talented midfielder.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta stated La Masia is of utmost importance to us. He firmly rejected proposals from funds seeking to acquire shares in Barcelona young talents making it clear that Casado is not for sale.
