Barcelona are facing a significant financial burden with debts totalling 147 million euros related to player transfers. This information comes from the club financial report as reported by AS.
The largest amount owed is over 22 million euros for Robert Lewandowski transfer. Barcelona owe 21 million to Bayern Munich and approximately one million spread across other clubs including Borussia Dortmund and Legia and Lech and Delta and Znicz and MKS.
Additionally Barcelona have a debt to Leeds United for the signing of Raphinha which includes 559.000 euros in the short term and nearly 42 million in the long term. The club also owe Atletico Paranaense 11.8 million euros in the short term and 7 million in the long term for Vitor Roque.
Despite these financial challenges Barcelona are currently leading La Liga with 24 points from nine matches. The team strong performance on the pitch contrasts with its financial situation.
