Florian Wirtz potential move to Real Madrid or Bayern Munich has been a topic of interest lately with Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro addressing the ongoing speculation. He reaffirmed Wirtz importance to the club stating He still has a lot to do here in Leverkusen.
Carro made it clear that a transfer is not currently under discussion emphasising Florian Wirtz is an immensely important player for us. His statements indicate that Leverkusen plans to keep the young talent long-term.
The managing director also highlighted the club recent successes in strengthening the squad. We have built a team here that will continue to play for titles in the future he noted reinforcing Wirtz role in their ambitions.
Wirtz contract runs until 2027 putting Leverkusen in a strong position regarding negotiations. Carro remarked We are not interested in giving him away in the near future.
These comments may frustrate Real Madrid who are keen on acquiring Wirtz. Carro remarks suggest that any move is unlikely for the foreseeable future.
