West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is under investigation by the Football Association for allegedly intentionally receiving yellow cards in four Premier League matches.
The Brazilian has been under scrutiny for over a year with authorities suspecting he favoured betting winnings through this method.
The alleged matches include:
West Ham - Leicester City (Nov 12 2022) - West Ham - Aston Villa (Mar 12 2023) - West Ham - Leeds (May 21 2023) - Bournemouth - West Ham (Aug 12 2023)
Paqueta faces two additional charges for failing to cooperate and obstructing the investigation after disposing of his old mobile phone which was requested by the FA.
Around 60 people mostly from Rio de Janeiro placed bets ranging from 10 to 550 euros on Paqueta receiving yellow cards.
A verdict is expected in the second half of 2025 allowing Paqueta to finish the current season without restrictions. However a life ban remains a possibility.
