Manchester City are looking at Real Sociedad midfielder and former Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi as a January target Relevo reports.
Pep Guardiola side is looking at options to replace Rodri who is out for the season with an ACL injury and Zubimendi is rated highly.
He is yet to sign a new deal with Real Sociedad so the €60m release clause still applies.
Liverpool famously tried to sign Zubimendi in the summer and were prepared to pay the release clause only for the player to reject them and choose to stay at his boyhood club.
Zubimendi stance on a potential move to Man City is unknown. If he agrees however he no doubt have a pretty frosty reception at Anfield when he comes there with his new team.
