As per The Times former Everton midfielder Dele Alli has suffered another setback in his attempts to regain match fitness and return to football.
The Englishman became a free agent in the summer after contract with the Toffees. The club has allowed him to use their training facilities to get back to full fitness.
But Alli has sustained another blow in that regard by suffering a muscle strain while training for his potential comeback.
The Englishman had reportedly been looking for a move to a Serie A club but now that has been put into further doubt.
Alli has been away from professional football for over 19 months with his last appearance being for Besiktas in February 2023.
