Paris Saint-Germain have appealed a ruling by the French Professional Football League LFP that ordered them to pay former striker Kylian Mbappe €55m in unpaid wages.
Mbappe had previously contacted the LFP Legal Committee which held a session last week that included all parties involved in the dispute. The committee initially suggested mediation but Mbappe side declined. As a result PSG were ordered to make the €55m payment.
According to L'Équipe the LFP does not have the power to force PSG to pay this amount. They can however impose sanctions on the club. One possible sanction could be a transfer ban which would significantly impact PSG future transfer activities.
The ongoing situation continues to create tension between Mbappe and PSG. Fans will be watching closely to see how this issue unfolds in the coming weeks.
