Brentford forward Yoane Wissa is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during Saturday 2-1 defeat at Manchester City according to manager Thomas Frank.
Wissa was forced off the pitch following a heavy challenge from Mateo Kovacic and initial assessments suggest he will be out for a couple of months.
The news comes as a significant blow to Brentford who have already lost Ivan Toney and are currently without summer signing Igor Thiago due to a knee injury.
However Frank remains optimistic stating It very frustrating but I will find a solution and other players will step up.
Brentford will look to regroup and overcome Wissa absence as they host Leyton Orient in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
