Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reportedly found his next destination verbally agreeing to join Greek side AEK Athens.
Martial left Old Trafford this summer after nine years with the club and had been taking his time to secure the right move. Despite interest from top teams like Lyon with Marseille and Atalanta Martial had also considered a move to South America with Brazilian side Flamengo.
However negotiations with Flamengo stalled over wage demands. AEK Athens have now stepped in offering Martial a lucrative deal that would make him the club highest-paid player surpassing current top earner Erik Lamela.
According to Matte Moretto on X Martial has verbally agreed to join AEK Athens opting to remain in Europe. The exact terms of the deal are yet to be confirmed but it believed to be substantial considering Martial previous £250.000-per-week salary at Manchester United.
