Turkish heavyweights Besiktas have confirmed that they have terminated the contract of Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Amartey.
The ex-Leicester City midfielder had an underwhelming first season at the club scoring one goal in 27 games after joining in 2023.
But this has been forced due to a particular rule in the Turkish Super Liga that has lowered the number of foreign players a club can register per season.
From the 2024-25 season the maximum foreigners in a squad has been reduced from 14 to 12 players. That is why Amartey deal has been terminated as he couldnt be registered in their squad.
Despite the termination the midfielder isg going to get a €3m severance payment from the club.
