The 28-year-old is going to sign the new deal after being linked to an exit last summer where he also reportedly held initial talks with Man United.
Dumfries current contract with Inter Milan expires in June 2025. But he likely to stay beyond that by signing the short-term contract.
The 28-year-old has become a rotational squad player at his club and only gotten 42 minutes of playing time in two Serie A games this season.
