Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 41.
In a heartfelt message posted on social media Bravo shared his decision with the fans.
Hello everyone I would like to share with you that I am going to leave professional football.
I believe I have made the right decision a well-considered decision and one that has been thoroughly discussed with my family and those closest to me.
I am closing a very important chapter in my life and it is also a moment to begin another stage in my life a family stage that will be just as successful as this one which brought us great satisfaction in every sense.
Bravo enjoyed a successful career notably donning the Barcelona colours between 2014 and 2016 during which he kept 43 clean sheets in 75 games for the club.
We wish him the very best as he begins this new chapter of his life.
