According to Fabrizio Romano AS Roma are close to a deal with a Saudi Pro League club but not over a sale of one of their players.
Instead the Italian club have agreed a €2.5m fee for Al Hilal right-back Saud Abdulhamid. He is set to travel to Rome for a medical on Monday.
The 25-year-old Saudi national team player is going to be the first representative of his country in Serie A.
Al Hilal meanwhile are planning to replace Abdulhamid with Joao Cancelo who is put up for sale by Man City.
