Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira is set to return to his former club Porto on loan two years after joining the Gunners from the Portuguese champions.
The 24-year-old who signed for Arsenal for £34.26m has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular making just 22 Premier League appearances in his debut season.
With the arrival of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad and the emergence of Ethan Nwaneri Vieira opportunities at the Emirates Stadium are expected to be limited.
A temporary switch to Porto will provide the Portugal youth international with consistent game time which has been lacking since his return from groin surgery in February.
The loan move will see Vieira return to the club where he began his playing career having progressed through Porto academy and making his senior debut in 2020.
