The French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Monday that Thierry Henry has left his position as head coach of the France Under-21 team citing personal reasons for his departure.
Henry a former Arsenal and Barcelona star was contracted with the FFF until June 2025 and was expected to lead the team through the Under-21 European Championship in Slovakia. However he has chosen to step down from his role.
The 47-year-old had a successful stint with the France Under-23 squad winning Olympic silver at the Paris Games earlier this summer. Despite losing 5-3 to Spain in the final Henry team achieved a notable accomplishment.
FFF president Philippe Diallo expressed gratitude for Henry work and regret over his decision.
Thierry Henry achieved the objectives set for him winning a silver medal at the Paris Olympics Diallo said. We wish him good luck for the rest of his career.
