Joe Gomez is reportedly considering options for the remainder of the transfer window and he is unlikely to be lacking them.

According to the i Mark Douglas who is a reputable Newcastle source the Magpies view Gomez as a viable alternative to Marc Guehi.

Crystal Palace want £65m for the centre-back. It was already deemed to be too expensive by Liverpool who were also keen on the England international.

Now Newcastle also have PSR concerns which may lead them to cheaper targets such as Gomez.

Previously a ₤45m fee was rumoured to be enough to get the versatile defender from Liverpool.

The Reds are not actively looking to sell Gomez. However if the 27-year-old expresses a clear desire to leave they are unlikely to stand in his way either.
