As per various sources like Paul Joyce and David Ornstein Liverpool are now considering a move to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
The Reds believe that the Spaniard is an ideal no.6 target after watching him impress for Spain in their Euro 2024 success.
However Liverpool wont be able to easily get this deal done. That is because Zubimendi has a £51.7m release clause inserted into his contract.
Sociedad want the Reds to either pay the release clause in full if a lower fee cant be agreed. There is also a case of Liverpool having to convince Zubimendi to join them which some other interested clubs have failed to do so far.
The 25-year-old has earned his reputation for being a sturdy no.6 and was one of Spain best players in the Euro 2024 final against England too.
He made 31 appearances in La Liga last season scoring four goals and providing one assist for Sociedad.
