David Datro Fofana has been linked with a summer exit from Chelsea. It is unclear whether it will be a permanent or a temporary departure though.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted David Datro Fofana expected to leave Chelsea this summer on loan with possible obligation-to-buy clause. Understand Leicester City are currently leading the race with Stuttgart and Villarreal also interested.

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea in December 2022 from Norwegian side Molde. He made only four first-team appearances for the Blues so far.

The Ivorian spent the first half of the 2023.24 season on loan with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga scoring just twice in 17 matches before the deal was cut short. He then moved to Burnley for the remainder of the campaign netting four times in 15 Premier League appearances.

The striker is not a part of Chelsea squad for the US tour training in London with transfer-listed players such as Trev Chalobah and Romelu Lukaku.
