Jose Mourinho has asked the Fenerbahce club owners to sign Ilkay Gundogan before the transfer window closes in less than a month.
According to reputable Turkish source Hurriyet Fenerbahce Vice President Acun Ilıcalı has already started negotiations to bring Gundogan to the club.
Barcelona may be tempted to offload Gundogan considering his age and the fact that they signed him for free. A €25-30m offer could be hard to refuse for the 33-year-old.
However Gundogan was easily Barca best midfielder last season. He made 19 goal contributions and was never injured.
Barca are also struggling with injuries to senior players like Gavi Pedri and Frenkie De Jong. Although new manager Hansi Flick seems to have found a way with youngsters losing an experienced player like Gundo may come back to bite Barca in the bum.
