Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Bologna left-back Riccardo Calafiori with the player set to join the team pre-season tour in the United States on Sunday.
According to reports the formal documentation for the transfer was completed on Friday night allowing Calafiori to undergo a medical on Saturday. He is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Gunners.
The transfer fee is believed to be an initial €40m £33.8m with an additional €5m £4.2m in add-ons bringing the total cost to around £38m.
Calafiori arrival will mark Arsenal fourth summer signing following the acquisitions of David Raya from Brentford and young goalkeepers Tommy Setford and Lucas Nygaard.
The 22-year-old Italian defender is set to link up with Mikel Arteta squad on their pre-season tour with the announcement of his transfer expected imminently.
