Bayern Munich are demanding a guaranteed £42 million for Matthijs De Ligt after rejecting Manchester United opening bid reports Fabrizio Romano.
De Ligt was not a regular starter for Bayern last season but his contract there runs till 2027.
The Red Devils only submitted an offer worth £29 million for De Ligt which Bayern rejected.
They are holding out for their proposed fee but it remains to be seen if Man United are ready to spend so much.
Man United only recently completed signing Leny Yoro who is also a centre-back for a fee of £58 million including add-ons.
