The transfer window is open for over a month but Liverpool still have not made any signings. The only credible rumour is the impending arrival of Chelsea 16-year-old talent Rio Ngumoha.

The Athletic report that the Reds will eventually make signings this summer but are planning to do it later in the window.

The main reason behind the club waiting for so long is that Arne Slot has not finished assessing the squad. He intends to do it in the first week of August when all players report back to pre-season.

There is an understanding at the club that the squad needs fine-tuning rather than rebuilding so the summer was never supposed to be hectic in terms of amount of arrivals and departures.
