Liverpool are being strongly linked with a move for Real Sociedad young winger Takefusa Kubo as their first major signing under Arne Slot.
But Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Japanese winger move to Anfield is not close or any imminent right now at all.
In fact there is nothing concrete with the Reds interest in signing Kubo right now at all. He just appears to be on the club transfer wishlist.
Liverpool already have Mo Salah locked in for the right-wing role which is the young winger ideal position. Arne Slot also needs to improve other areas of the squad including signing a new centre-back and potentially a defensive-midfielder.
The Reds have been uncharacteristically slow in the 2024 summer transfer window and the new CEO Michael Edwards is facing criticism for this.
