Liverpool are deep in negotiations with Take Kubo with his representatives flying to the UK to hold talks Japanese media outlet Sponichi reports.
The Reds are close to reaching an agreement with the Japan international. The report states that they will pay him €15m per year and have agreed a €60m transfer fee with Real Sociedad.
Sponichi is considered a good source in Japanese football and were among the first outlets to report on Wataru Endo deal with Liverpool last summer. However well-known Liverpool journalists Paul Joyce and James Pearce have not said anything about the Kubo deal.
The 23-year-old reported salary at Liverpool is also questionable. If Kubo would indeed earn €15m per season he would become the second highest-paid player at Anfield with only Mo Salah earning more.
The Japan international scored seven goals and provided four assists in 30 La Liga matches last term.
