According to Fabrizio Romano Arsenal have now struck an agreement with Bologna for the signing of Riccardo Calafiori.
The Gunners have agreed a transfer fee of €40m along with €5m more in potential performance-related add-ons.
There is also a sell-on clause inserted to the deal by Bologna as they want a part of any fee Arsenal get on potentially selling the defender in the future.
One more step is needed for this deal to be finalized. That concerns Bologna agreeing on the sell-on payment terms with FC Basel from whom they had signed Calafiori from.
The Italian defender has already agreed on a five-year contract with Mikel Arteta side and is eager to make the switch as soon as possible.
