According to the Daily Mirror Joshua Zirkzee has made a beeline for the No.9 shirt which is now vacant following the departure of Anthony Martial.
Martial exit has freed up the iconic shirt with Zirkzee set to join permanently it makes sense for him to receive it.
However Rasmus Hojlund has been at Manchester United longer and enjoyed a stellar spell last season.
Despite a slow start the Danish striker overcame all odds to end 2023/24 with 16 goals across competitions.
Hojlund wore the No.11 shirt last season due to the No.9 not being available. Now that it up for grabs the Daily Mirror understands even Hojlund wants it.
It remains to be seen who gets the shirt but competition will be fierce next season.
