As per Sport Barcelona have agreed on personal terms with Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams amid the Euro 2024 campaign.

The Blaugrana met with his agent Felix Tainta and were able to finalize the length of his contract and potential wages in the meeting.

But now Barca face the uphill task of agreeing a deal with Athletic Bilbao for the transfer of their star winger. He has a €58m release clause inserted in his contract which must be paid in full.

Paying that much in one go is difficult for the Blaugrana due to financial issues. They look to negotiate with Bilbao to perhaps pay a lower fee in part payments.

Williams has notified the club that he won wait for them forever. He warned Barca that the deal could fall through if they can agree it before the first week of August.

The 21-year-old is enjoying a prolific Euro 2024 campaign with Spain having scored one goal and provided an assist in five appearances.
